Anna was born on March 2, 1998 to parents Randy and Kathy Salamone. She has one sibling, an older sister Nina.
She first got involved in gymnastics at age three. She took classes for awhile until they started up a team at her gym that she was asked to join. She started competing when she was eight, doing one meet of level four then moving straight to level five. She stayed a level five gymnast for two years and a level six for one.
In 2009 she went to level seven, having her best meet season. She came in fourth place at her first meet, then got straight first place all around titles at the rest. She scored very well receiving top scores of 9.75 bars, 9.7 beam, and 38.4 all around all placing her on the america top 100 list. This excellent year concluded with her winning the level seven state championships on bars and in the all around. The next year she moved up to level eight.
Some season highlights were winning the pink invitational in Philadelphia,PA getting first on bars and in the all around and third place on beam and floor, getting third place on beam at the level eight state championship and fifth place all around qualifying for the regional championships, and becoming the regional beam champion and getting second place all around.
In 2011 Anna began competing level nine. She had a good season but felt staying another year in that level would benefit her. In her second year level nine she had a great state meet and regional meet winning the all around in both. She also was the state and regional beam champion, and the regional floor champion. Taking first place all around at regionals made her an Eastern National qualifier.
In her freshman year she maintained high honor roll throughout the year, having an overall average of about a 96 making her first year at Bayport-Blue Point High School a successful one. This last school year as a sophmore she had an overall overage above 95.
Anna is currently training for the upcoming 2014-2015 season as a second year level 10 gymnast.
